Children & Adolescents

Childhood and adolescence are the ages of greatest physical as well as emotional development, in the most literal sense.  Much brain development is occurring during this time, therefore intervening earlier has the greatest impact.

Children and adolescents are influenced greatly by their environments, therefore I often invite family members to join sessions, with the permission of the young person.  It can be helpful for parents and caregivers to also gain insight into what may be occurring for the child. In my work I use age-appropriate approaches with the overall goal of promoting growth and healing in children.  I work to help children and teens to develop the skills to express themselves in a healthful manner, and help parents and youth better identify and manage their emotions.
