If you are a family facing challenges, family counseling may be very useful for you. The family as a unit or system has an influence on every member, so it can be helpful to focus on the family as a whole instead of each member individually.
In therapy, I promote communication and connection within families, working with the members to help increase understanding and resolve conflicts. I focus on the existing strengths of the family and help develop skills to stop family patterns from continuing, reduce stress and improve harmony. This is accomplished in a variety of ways, including improving co-parenting techniques, learning parenting skills and connecting parents with their children more fully, while at the same time helping children communicate their feelings to their parents.
If you are a new client, please complete my child-family intake form before your first visit.
I also work with children and adolescents and individuals.
