About

My Approach

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in San Francisco with 18 years of clinical experience specializing in work with children and teenagers, families, and individuals.  After obtaining my B.A. in Psychology from The University of California at Berkeley, I went on to study Counseling and Guidance at New York University and received my M.A.  I became licensed in New York state prior to becoming licensed in California.  I have worked in a variety of settings with children, teenagers and families, including private practice, school and nonprofit agencies.

My approach is empathetic, warm, effective and honest.  I am down-to-earth and practical, and collaborate with my clients while focusing on their strengths.  I work through a psychodynamic and attachment-based framework, utilizing elements of Family Systems approach as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and have training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).  I find deep satisfaction in my work helping my clients reach their goals, and greatly respect their efforts in therapy.

My specialties include family connection and conflict, divorce and separation, improving communication among family members, adult family systems (grown children and their parents and/or siblings), parenting and parenting interventions, trauma and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), life transitions, anxiety and depression, among others.

My clients include children and adolescents, families and individuals.
